Painting Donation
As part of Kolding Storcenter's Summer exhibition, one image will be chosen to be printed as the exhibitions poster. I had a meeting last Thursday with the event chief of Kolding Storcenter, Frank Holm Hansen. It was also a chance to meet the other artists chosen for the exhibition. Every artist contributed a piece of work that represented them, and we the artists voted what piece will be chosen. This year, as well as the winning image, all other pieces will also be printed on the backside. The pieces of art will then be donated to a worthy charity after the exhibition is finished.
I chose my newest painting 'Coloured Kingdom'. Over the seven years I have been in Denmark, I have slowly built it up with colours from paintings I have done in that time. With its complex and meaningful narrative I believe it best represents me, and where I am at the moment. Click on the photo here to see more pictures and details of this piece of work under paintings. After meeting the other artists I can say that this years exhibition will have a range of styles and media, and I am definitely in talented company. It is great that we can contribute to a good cause. News of the chosen charity and poster coming soon.
